The Committee were pleased to welcome John H as Captain. They weren't really they just felt they had to after kicking him off the Committee a couple of years earlier.

John introduced a few new features for his Captain's Year, he took Freemo's summation monologue idea and put it into written form as the "Captain's Log". Joe had suggested grading the quality of bacon butties at venues and hence the "Baconbuttyometer" was born which was included within the Captain's Log. He also asked for the draws to be done in such a way that he got to play with every member of the Society at least once in his Captain's Year. Strangely enough subsequent Captain's haven't felt the need to continue any of these features. Nine events were played this season with Helsby and Bidston being the only new venues. Alas, just a week or so after the Season ended we lost Norman very suddenly. His infectious laughter and gentle humour will be much missed, although not his rain dance on the tee!!
